Re-Opening Services

According to Governor Northam, in Chesterfield County, we are allowed to have gatherings in our places of worship as of Friday, May 15th, as long as the confirmed cases of the Coronavirus do not escalate.  He reserves the right to rescind this if necessary.  However, with that news comes a great responsibility we have to our congregation and the public.  We cannot do things the same way we once had, without repercussions.

As Pastor of Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene, under advisement, I have arbitrarily decided, that this Sunday, May 17th, we will open our place of worship for a “Virtual Service” -  meaning: the service will be streamed again, and you will have the option to either view it at Cross Pointe as a congregation, or in your homes.  (We are making plans a week at a time while seriously assessing our situation here in Chesterfield County.)  We are encouraging those who struggle with health issues, or who are ill, to remain in their homes until a time when they get better, or some of these restrictions are lifted by our Governor.

Please be aware that there are some safety precautions that will need to be put in place to help guarantee the safety of our people.

·  Our facilities will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to the services.

·  One multigenerational service will be provided with no nursery or children's ministry at this time during Phase one.

·  Face masks are highly recommended (thinking of others more than ourselves)

·  Participants will be encouraged to maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet between our family units.

·  We remind you of the ‘no hugs or handshakes’ policy.

·  Restrooms will be available in case of emergency.

This is not all we would like it to be at this time, but we must maintain a high alert; the confirmed cases for Chesterfield county alone are still high. (Our county is listed seventh among all the counties in Virginia; second in counties outside of Northern Virginia). Creating a safe place at our church is a high priority.

If we haven’t learned through this time of adversity, we are doomed to repeat it.

We have started live streaming the Sunday Service on the Church Facebook page.

We also upload the videos to YouTube so that people who do not have Facebook can access the service.
